Interesting scene in the woods
Quite a different store, “Rock, Paper, Silver” in Banff.
This week’s specials are a Mammoth Tooth for only $27,000.00 and a Cave Bear Fossil Skeleton for only $39,000.00
Bargain, right?
Along Hwy93 between Radium Hotsprings and Banff there is a small place near Vermillion Crossing called the Paint Pots.
The Paint Pots and the associated ochre beds form an area of unusual physical and chemical activity and have a history of use by both Aboriginal groups and Europeans.
The Ktunaxa (formerly Kootenay), as well as the Stoney and Blackfoot tribes, collected ochre here for important ceremonies and for trade. The yellow ochre was cleaned, kneaded with water into walnut sized balls, then flattened into cakes and baked. The red powder was mixed with fish oil or animal grease to paint their bodies, tipis, clothing or pictures on the rocks.

Thousands of yellow wildflowers painting a yellow carpet in the forest.
After the Glenrosa wildfire, nearly 2 years ago, what's left over of the
forest is finally in bloom. Mainly yellow, orange/red and white flowers came
up in thousands.
I love spring, like any season. This year looks promising for our fruit trees, enough blossom and bees.
A rainy spring so far.
Quite the snowpack and more coming today :)
We're over 2.5 meters for sure.
Quiet day so far patrolliing the hill.

Here is a little flash application I found in an old directory for those
that have some time to kill... Enjoy! :)
